Started Machine Pilates

Recently, I had not been exercising at all and thought my belly was getting out of control... so I finally decided to join a machine Pilates studio.
What is Machine Pilates?
Machine Pilates is an exercise that uses specialized machines with springs and pulleys as assistance.
The machines support the body's movements, making it easier to learn the correct form without strain, and efficiently train the inner muscles and core.
Why Pilates?
When asked why Pilates, there wasn't an overwhelming reason.
The biggest reason is that my wife already attends and recommended it to me.
I have poor posture with a hunched back, wide stance, and severe O-legs. I've been wanting to correct my posture for a long time, and I heard Pilates is suitable for that.
Compared to the gym, Pilates effectively targets the inner muscles, so it seems to be good for health. It is said to have the following effects:
- Improves posture and tightens appearance
- Increases basal metabolism, making it easier to lose weight
- Helps prevent back pain and shoulder stiffness
- Creates a stable body that's less prone to injury
How is it going?
The studio I’m attending is run by a physical therapist who provides various personal training guidance, which is very good. (Plus, it's unlimited visits for a fixed fee)
Currently, I plan to go in the morning twice a week.
It’s been less than a month, but I'm starting to establish it as a habit.
Going with my wife rather than alone seems to help with my consistency, which is great.
Since Pilates uses machines with springs, they can be used for both stretching and strength training. Thus, I want to correct my posture while increasing muscle mass, boosting metabolism, and reducing fat.
I consistently feel sore after each session, so I feel my strength is increasing.
I pushed too hard on my inner thighs the other day and ended up with severe muscle soreness that kept me awake at night. (Just lying on my back would make my thighs cramp from my own weight...)
I don't feel like my posture has improved in such a short time, but at least I have the desire to consciously improve my posture, which is encouraging.
Being in my 40s, I want to invest my time and money in health.
